Objective & the BIG PICTURE
To utilize the artists voice to raise awareness and communicate an activist message regarding the issues of environmental Justice, world wide. With emphasis on Air and Water quality and management, but is not restricted to only this lens. The goal is a call for action, artists should choose an environmental issue they are passionate about, either a problem or solution they have experienced and use it as inspiration for their work.

The United States Environmental Protection Agency defines environmental justice as the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, or income with respect to the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies. EPA has this goal for all communities and persons across this Nation. It will be achieved when everyone enjoys the same degree of protection from environmental and health hazards and equal access to the decision-making process to have a healthy environment in which to live, learn, and work.

Other definitions include equitable distribution of environmental risks and benefits; fair and meaningful participation in environmental decision-making; recognition of community ways of life, local knowledge, and cultural difference; and the capability of communities and individuals to function and flourish in society.

This challenge with be held in collaboration with the Environmental Advocacy Group (EJAG), who are interested in collaborating to bring awareness to issues related to Air and Water. In addition, the challenge will be participating in a symposium and art show where professionals and experts will hold a forum to discuss issues and potential solutions/suggestions to improve the quality of Water and Air in the San Joaquin County, California. This event will be held at The University of The Pacific Arts Hall, November 15th, 2015.

THE EJAG ART SHOW
A little about the show. We've been given a huge space for the show. Rey Vargas is wrangling all the on-site details. The art show will be help in conjunction with the EJAG Symposium on November 15th, 2015. Artists that want to participate in the show should submit their works as part of the ArtOrder challenge. Works will be judged by the ArtOrder challenge jury panel. Selected works will be offered the opportnity to be shown in the art show. Artists that are chosen have a number of options available to them. They can provide the actual works for display/sale at the show (must coordinate this with Rey Vargas) and/or they can provide print-ready files and sell prints of their works. We, in conjunction with WorQ Shop printing, are offering very competitive pricing and high returns on sales. Our goal is to have the artists pocket 80-90% of the revenue generated from the sales of their products. Final numbers will vary depending upon costs and taxes.
