My imagination ran wild from a young age; from drawing my own books to planting glass shards to grow glass flowers, I believed anything was possible. Drawing and painting became my passion. I attended the School of Visual of Arts for a few semesters. Excited by many forms of media, including film, sculpture, painting, architecture and more, this creative exploration led me to find my true artistic path through photography. My creative inspiration comes from my surroundings; trips to museums and conventions where a multitude of artists inspire and motivate me, walks around cities and towns, or just exploring the raw beauty of nature. The one constant of my creative journey has been my camera. I take photographs everywhere I go. I'm as fascinated by crumbling rocks as I am by droplets of water, beautiful flowers, even an insect. Through my lens, my mind's eye becomes free to imagine, observe, think and wonder. I was born into a family of self-taught artists; two uncles were photographers, and my grandfather, who was a wood and metal artist that made folk art pieces. Like them, I found my own voice, finally realizing my medium of photography was in my hands all along. My camera and equipment are my tools. In every image, I endeavor to capture a single moment of time as it works its magic in our world; the macro details of an insect, the abstract and extraordinary patterns of everyday life, the surrealism and beauty of unseen details that evoke a sensory response. My goal is to take the observer of my work along with me on this journey of discovery; to impart and inspire introspection of how we all view and move through our world, and have their imagination run wild with curiosity and wonder.

Projects:

Photography - Macro photography I have a passion for, Abstract, Illusion, Nature. Every day is a project and I always have a camera with me. I also use other lenses as well. And if I don’t have my camera, I have 2 camera phones with me at all times. I can take pictures anywhere, anytime. I even volunteer to photograph at the local Jiu-jitsu School for action shots and recently did a gig taking pictures at a Baptism. But these projects are all in the end practice for what I really want to achieve in my art. It’s like doodling on paper. I am a fine art photographer, who explores any subject set before me with my lens and then I play with my pictures and take them to new levels to produce art that I hope will engage and inspire the observer. I am planning on displaying my work at a few galleries next year as well as participating in a few contests.
