Projects: I' m currently working on a project I call Mudpie, meant to depict Yellowstone National Park as it may have appeared over the 2 million year span of the Pleistocene. Mudpie has been a fine reason to hike about Yellowstone over the last decade for needed references--by direct observation, photographs and sketches. To date, the artwork has been done in a field-sketch style meant to give the impression of wandering through vistas of great volcanism and flowing glaciers on foot with simple tools. I see Mudpie as a personal stamp on natural history, free-running physics and deep time.

The Gallatin Ice Cap flowing through passes between Bunsen Peak, Terrace Mountain, Clagett Butte viewed over the long, eastern ridge of Sepulcher Mountain. Distant plumes rise from Roaring Mountain.
