Description

Moon Dance , Goddess transcends space and time, a maiden of the moon and stars.. Stars sparkle in her hair as she dances in the light of the moon. Bas relief, diachroic colour shift glass. Medium is Bullseye lavender shift diachroic glass billet, kiln cast glass. One of a kind. It's a fantasy play of image and light. Displayed in full spectrum light,so it shows displays dichroism of lavender and green simultaneously. It's a naturally occurring phenomenon inherent to this type of glass. This is not an applied colorant or paint ,it's caused when visible light to be split up into distinct wavelengths, this is due to the mineral content of the glass, reacting to different light spectrums, penetrating the varying thicknesses of the glass, to produce a bi colour effect. The strength of the dichroic effect varies strongly with the wavelength of the light, and thickness of the material as light passes through, making them appear to have different colours when viewed with light having differing polarizations. Size- 11x9 inches x 1 inch thick.
