The Enchantress by Leslie Nguyen

I created this piece to explore the idea of how selfish people can drain the energy of the people around them. Some may do this unknowingly, but others may embrace their manipulative nature. Being around these people can be mentally draining, but sometimes it is impossible to be rid of them. The character I envision is the embodiment of this idea. This dark sorceress is surrounded by the wilting hands of people she has stolen life from. Some hands are angry, while others are still loving. From her mouth is toxic fumes, which symbolize the dangerous influence of her words. This was made with charcoal on 18"x24" drawing paper, and I used Photoshop to crop the photo and adjust the levels.
