Description

The Lady of November bears the Chrysanthemum and dons the stone of Topaz. The Chrysanthemum represents cheerfulness and the Topaz will bring her strength and wisdom. She ushers in a time of fading light and remembrance.

Lady of November is part of an Art Nouveau birthstone series called the Ladies of the Months. November was a particularly personal piece for me, since I am also born in November. It also represents a time of year that we remember our loved ones who have passed.

For this Lady, I was inspired by the Aztec Lady of the Dead and the return of the Monarch butterflies to Mexico during the Day of the Dead. Locals believe these butterflies symbolize the return of their loved one's spirits. I couldn't think of a more fitting theme for the Lady of November.
