Description

The Aztec guardian of the river to the Afterlife, Xolotl ushers souls along their journey from life, to what lies ahead. Similar to the Egyptian deity Anubis, but Xolotl is depicted with the head of the Mexican dog of the same name (xolotl breed). I chose to show this deity in a state of decay, as the Afterlife is not all roses and sunshine.
