Chuckle's Last Stand

Over the last 30 days Artists submitted 105 Artworks into the Bela Lugosi's Tales From the Grave™ Cover Art Competition that Infected by Art hosted for Monsterverse Entertainment. This weekend at the Long Beach Comic and Horror Convention, Monsterverse publisher Kerry Gammill announced that artist Alan Pollack's ghastly Clown image Chuckle's Last Stand was selected the winner of the competition.

Alan Pollack's artwork will grace a future cover of Tales From the Grave™ and the artwork will also be the source of inspiration for a story that will appear in the same issue and incorporate ideas suggested by Alan.



About Alan Pollack

Alan Pollack was born in New Jersey in 1964. He studied art at Kean College of New Jersey, The School of Visual Arts, Parsons School of Design and The New York Academy of Figurative Arts in Manhattan. For over 20 years he has been creating captivating art for many of the industry’s leading book and game publishers. His art also appeared on the cover of Spectrum 8, an illustration annual which focuses on the year’s best science fiction and fantasy art.

Bela Lugosi's Tales from the Grave, published by Monsterverse Entertainment, is a horror anthology in the tradition of EC comics and Creepy Magazine. Each issue presents shocking comic book tales of terror hosted by the original king of Hollywood horror, Bela Lugosi through special arrangement with the Bela Lugosi estate.

Monsterverse is a company dedicated to the creation of the best in horrific stories and characters. Founded by artist Kerry Gammill, it was built on a life-long love for horror films and comics spanning from the early classics to the present day. Monsterverse was formed in 2009 and began production the following year with the publication of BELA LUGOSI'S TALES FROM THE GRAVE, a tribute to the classic horror anthology comics of the past. Classic horror film icon Bela Lugosi serves as the presenter of the stories through a special arrangement with the actor's estate. Inspired by the company's vision for the book, many fine comics writers and artists with a penchant for horror have contributed to the success of the comic, including such notables as John Cassaday, Benton Jew, Henry Mayo, Bill Sienkiewicz, Lowell, Isaac, Terry Beatty, Martin Powell, Mike Dubisch, James Groman, Mike Hoffman, Mark Finn and John Lucas. Cover artists have included John Cassaday, David Hartman, Bruce Timm (a back cover), Terry Wolfinger, Alex Tuis and multiple Oscar winning make-up effects artist Rick Baker, as well as the legendary FAMOUS MONSTERS cover artist, Basil Gogos.
